Big Rock Show

Swedens largest newspaper Aftonbladet kicks off Swedens biggest journalistic bet on hard rock. The 23rd of March it’s the premiere for the web TV show Big Rock Show and the new special site Nöjesbladet Hårdrock. -Hard rock is the new “schlager”! Aftonbladet will of course be the natural news source for all the hard rock fans, says Klas Lindberg from Aftonbladet. The Big Rock Show is a half hour long show that will air once a week during a period of eight weeks. Nöjebladet Hårdrock is a special site with news, reviews and interviews with artists within metal and hard rock. Big Rock Show is hosted by Ryan Roxie, former guitarist in Alice Cooper’s band, and will host the show in English. The show has its own panel with rock girls, who interviews rock stars, takes a look at scandals, delivers gossip and talk trends. Every show is visited by Aftonbladet’s experts Mattias Kling and Joacim Persson. There will always be a whole lot of nostalgia in form of TV-clips from when hard rock was at its best – during the 70’s. -Since we haven’t had a show about hard rock in a very long time I think the Big Rock Show has great potential, also internationally. This is the first web-TV show that takes hard rock seriously, says Fredrik Lindén from Aftonbladet. Together with the Big Rock Show they are launching the site Nöjesbladet Hårdrock. Where the readers can follow Mattias Kling’s hard rock blog and the hottest bands tour blogs. Mustach and Bullet are the first once out, and In Flames will follow. There will also be a live coverage of Swedish concerts with bands like Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot. -Hard rock is on a steady march forward and some of the most national things that we have. That is why we are intensifying our already good coverage of it, says Klas Lindberg. The Big Rock Show is the first out of four productions that Aftonbladet TV is launching during this spring. The show is sponsored by the hard rock festival and magazine Sweden Rock, post- and net trade company Ginza.se, the energy drink Rockstar Energy Drink and the instrument shop 4Sound. Big Rock Show is developed by Ryan Roxie and the TV-producer Patrik Hambraeus and is produced by Veranda Film.
