Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam Twenty

Da kommt eine neue Musikdokumentation auf uns zu. Kernpunkt ist Parl Jam, die lebende Legende aus Seattle. Grund, wie der Name schon vermuten lässt, ist das 20-jährige Bestehen der Kultband.

Unter der Regie des preisgekrönten Regisseurs und Musikjournalisten Cameron Crowe („Almost Famous“, „Vanilla Sky“ etc.) entstand in den vergangenen Monaten der Film „Pearl Jam Twenty“. Der enthält brandneue Interviews, Live-Mitschnitte und umfangreiches Archiv-Material. Dem Oscar-Preisträger standen dabei für seine Arbeit über 1200 Stunden seltenes bzw. unveröffentlichten Band-Filmmaterial zur Verfügung.

Zum Kinostart in den USA erscheint mit „Pearl Jam Twenty“ ein gleichnamiges Soundtrack-Album, das all jene Songs enthält, die Crowe für den Film auswählte.


Zeitgleich kommt ein Buch in den Handel, das vom legendären US-Musikjournalisten Jonathan Cohen gemeinsam mit Mark Wilson (Autor der Pete-Townshend-Biographie „Who Are You“) zusammengestellt und verfasst wurde. Die Gestaltung übernahm Pearl Jam-Designer Regan Hagar, Cameron Crowe steuerte ein Vorwort bei.
