State Of The Art

Wenn Tantric, Fuel und Dramagods vereint sind, tönt es wie State Of The Art. SOTA ist die Band welche Hugo Ferreira nach dem Knatsch bei Tantric, als er plötzlich ganz ohne Band dastand, gründete. Allerdings bestätigte er immer, dass Tantric immer noch am Leben sei, wie man aus den neusten Meldungen auch erkennen kann. Ein Interview von Len Sousa mit den SOTA Jungs gibts hier. For those of you asking: IS TANTRIC BREAKING UP???
NOOOO!!!. Tantric is still going strong. Tantric will release the record in the near future. State of The Art is a creative outlet for everyone involved. We are making music different from any of our respective bands. 2 reasons and 2 reasons only. Music that doesn't necessarily fit into the style of our other bands. It is also a chance to write with other amazing musicians.

Es ja nicht so, dass SOTA so ganz neu tönt. Aber es kommen schon neue Einflüsse dazu und das ist ganz gut so. Vorallem der Song Down And Out mit der elektrischen Violine geht gewaltig unter die Haut.

The End Begins

Eine dritte Scheibe der Post Grunge Band Tantric ist im Anmarsch, *The End Begins*, formals auch Tantric III genannt. Ein Leidensweg und Querelen verzögerten die Produktion. Und plötzlich stand Sänger Hugo Ferreira ohne Band da. Er nahm das ganze Material mit und formierte eine neue Tantric Band. Die CD-Titelumtaufe ist bezeichnend.

Armed with Elliott Blakey in the producer's chair, work commenced on the follow-up to After We Go in February of 2004. The band finished over a dozen songs for the album, which at the time had the tentative title "Tantric 3," including "Fall Down", "The One", and "Letting Go". However, many internal problems plagued the band over the course of this time, including the departure of bassist Jesse Vest (Whitener recorded all of the bass on the album) and the band's release from Maverick Records. Finally, the original line-up disbanded when Todd Whitener announced his departure from the band, taking with him Bruce LaFrance to begin their new project, Interchange. Left without a band, Hugo Ferreira scrapped the entire record, and enlisted members of his side project State of the Art to record and tour as Tantric. The new line-up finished recording in September of 2007, with returning producer Toby Wright. The record has a tentative release date of early 2008.

3 Jahre hat es auch gedauert bis der Nachfolger von *After We go* wie Phönix aus der Asche emporstieg. Wer die etwas sanfteren Töne von Alice in Chains mochte, wird hier bestens bedient!

Die Band Tantric wurde von früheren Days of the New, Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener und Matt Taul gegründet. Dazu stiess der Merge Sänger Hugo Ferreira. Die unvergleichlichen Stimme, die einen sofort in ihren Bann zieht. Was nach der zweiten resp bei der Produktion der dritten Scheibe passierte, kann man oben nachlesen.
