Purge

Nicht dass Frauen nicht in die Welt der lauten Musik passen täten, aber es gibt so wenige davon.
Rund um die ehemalige Wargod/Phantom Blue Gitarristin und Namensgeberin der Band - Michelle Meldrum - scharte sich ein kleines, aber feines 3 Frauen starkes Grüppchen. Drei Riot Girrrrrrls als Combo mit Sitz in Schweden, obwohl Michelle selbst aus den USA stammt. Sie ist der Spross einer Künstlerfamilie und war eines der Gründungsmitglieder der All Girl-Band Phantom Blue, die vor allem in den Staaten bis Mitte der Neunziger für einigen Wirbel in der Machowelt der harten Gitarren sorgte.

Meldrum erinnern mich stark an Benedictum. Eine Powerfrontfrau entschädigt für vieles. Nein ehrlich, der Song *Purge* vom letzten Album *Blowin' Up the Machine* kommt schon stark rüber, obwohl viele anderer Meinung sind.
Die schwedisch-amerikanische Freundschaft wird auf dem Videoclip von Drummer Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Dark Angel) unterstützt und kompletiert. Sie tourten schon mit verschiedenen Grössen der Szene wie Motorhead, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Sepultura, Danzig, Nashville Pussy. Also irgendwas haben die Ladies was sie gut können. Hört es euch einfach mal an und lasst euch läutern. ;-)
Wusstest du übrigens, dass Michelle die Frau von John Norum (Europe) ist?
Die Sängern Moa war kürzlich als Gastsängerin bei Lemmy Kilmisters (Motorhead) Solo Album auf einem Song dabei der von Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) geschrieben wurde.
